1" Satin and antiqued finish sterling silver St. Luke large round medal on a 24" stainless steel rhodium plated chain. The pendant features a raised image of Saint Luke on the front, who is shown with a calf behind him (representing the four animals of Revelation 4:7-8) and a caduceus, the symbol of doctors. On the top and bottom of the pendant are the words, "Saint Luke Pray For Us". The back of the medal is blank with a brushed finish but can be engraved with the message of your choice. Includes an elegant deluxe velour jewelry box. Saint Luke is the author of the Gospel According to Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. He was also a companion to St. Paul the Apostle. While information about his life is not widely known, the New Testament mentions him briefly and refers to him as a physician. Thus, he is the Patron Saint of Doctors and Artists. He is believed to have been a martyr, reportedly having been hanged from an olive tree.
