The design includes a polished brass cross nailed to a wood cross with a pewter First Communion chalice with grapes and bread affixed to the front. The chalice with the wheat represent the Eucharist (Holy Communion). Eucharist is a sacrament of initiation that Christians commemorate through their holy communion to celebrate what happened at the last supper.
